Telephone/Video Counselling Service

For children and youth 0-18 years of age and their families

Wellkin Child & Youth Mental Wellness provides confidential counselling services to young people (birth to 18 years of age) and their families living in Oxford and Elgin Counties at no cost. Currently, this service is offered via telephone or video conference.

Depending on the age and circumstances, counselling may take place with the young person, primarily with their caregivers, or may include the entire family.

Reasons clients might wish to access counselling are many and varied. These may include but are not limited to such issues as mental health concerns, depression, family violence, behavioural concerns, school or social difficulties, parent-child conflicts, internet/gaming and digital dependency, substance abuse, and issues surrounding sexuality. The therapists at Wellkin are trained professionals who have ongoing access to the consultation services of a child psychiatrist.

Counselling at Wellkin is voluntary, and while we appreciate calls from other service providers in the community (e.g. a family doctor, someone from the school, etc.), we need to hear directly from the client or family that a referral for counselling is something they wish to take part in. We encourage our clients’ active participation in directing their counselling and we always welcome input from the public on how we may be able to improve our services.

To access our telephone or video counselling services, contact us Monday through Friday at 1-877-539-0463 and a member of our team will guide you through the intake process. Or…
