The Board of Directors at Wellkin Child & Youth Mental Wellness is excited to welcome Kelly Baker as the new Executive Director! As the Executive Director, Kelly will continue to elevate the organization focusing on our strategic objectives aligned with the system transformation in our sector.
Combined with a B.Sc. in Psychology & Economics from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Social Welfare Policy & Economics from McMaster University, Kelly comes with extensive experience working within the not-for profit sector as well as many years in the private sector. Through her experience working directly with the LHINs, Ministry of Health, and not-for-profit community agencies, Kelly is well respected as an executive and leader in the health, community and social services sector.
Kelly is known for being a champion of the underdog and marginalized members of the community, always pushing the system to improve equity and access. Kelly’s efforts will be put to good use at Wellkin as we continue to strive for improved mental health supports for the children, youth, and families in our communities throughout Oxford & Elgin Counties, as well as at a provincial level. Kelly is a personable and compassionate leader who values diversity, equity, inclusivity and is a strong advocate for vulnerable and marginalized populations. Using an innovative and strategic thought process, Kelly sees value in different ideas and recognizes the importance of engaging the appropriate stakeholders through feedback and collaboration.
